About us
The newly founded Institute of Molecular Pathogenicity conducts research in the field of Molecular Infection Biology. We aim to understand how defense proteins of the innate immune system detect and combat bacterial pathogens, and how these pathogens evade immune responses. To fundamentally understand these host–pathogen interactions, we use an interdisciplinary approach combining molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, immunology, biophysics, and biochemistry. The lab language is English.
Heinrich Heine University upholds the principle of "Excellence through Diversity". It has signed the "Diversity Charter" and successfully participated in the Stifterverband's audit "Shaping Diversity". It is certified as a family-friendly university and has set itself the goal of promoting diversity among its staff. Applications from people of all genders are expressly welcome. Applications from women will be given preferential consideration in accordance with the State Equal Opportunities Act.
